# Diamond Painting - how to start with beginners

We desperately need a nice stress-relieving hobby here. Diamond Painting seems to be popular - any tips? Just jump right in? what’s good for a beginner?

I had never heard of diamond painting until this came up. I had to look it up. YouTube has a number of videos devoted to beginning diamond painting. Here’s the one that I watched:

I got into diamond painting BIG TIME during lockdown and it is a very good stress reliever. It does take patience and while it is the same principle as paint by number, it’s much easier imo.  
There are kits for every level, though I would say it only takes doing a couple to get “good” at it.  
I’d recommend starting with pictures that don’t have too many colors / small sections. Also, square “diamonds” (as opposed to round) are easier to work with and create a better finished product.
