Diamonds Are NOT A Girl's Best Friend!

Admittedly, I haven’t much interest in the OP, but if we’re talking about sparklies, I’ll join in.

I love the sparklies. I have lots and lots of jewelry, but most of mine is semi-precious, as seems to be a trend in this thread. Most of my rings are large (8 carats and up) stones. Lots of amethyst, smoky quartz and the like. As far as diamonds go, I have one pair of princess cut earrings, and one diamond ring. The earrings are just a must have. Nice, fairly small, interestingly cut and classy. The ring is from my best friend, and isn’t precious to me because it’s diamonds, but because it’s something I had custom made for myself, and he went and bought for me, making some minor modifications that really added to it. It’s a brushed platinum setting, with very tiny diamonds interwoven in it. Gorgeous. I wouldn’t even want something that anyone can walk into the mall and buy. Life is too short. And everything must be silver/white gold/platinum. Not because I don’t like gold, but gold just plain doesn’t look good on me. I’ve tried it.

My ex-husband presented me with a round diamond ring in a gold setting. I wore it proudly for what it meant to me, but perhaps should have noticed that he picked out something that was decidedly HIS taste and not mine. Hence the ex part. Hrm…
