Pish posh, I knew something was wrong with the film near the beginning, when Merry and Pippin were sitting on Saruman’s coach, eating his Spam, and smoking his Cuban cigars, while watching a news broadcast from Gondor on Saruman’s bib-screen TV. ---

The other thing that surprises me is how surprised people were to learn that Billy Boyd can sing. Didn’t they see the scene in Rivendell in the EE DVD where Sean Astin sits down at teh piano and Billy starts singing, “You must remember this…” 😃 Anyone wonder if Ian McKellen, Billy Boyd, or any of the rest of them have been monitoring these threads and laughing their behinds off at the comments? ---

Random thoughts: -Weren’t the signal fires Obscured By Clouds a Pink Floyd homage? -Having Geoffrey Rush play the leader of the Dead Army was such a fine idea… and -the idea of a redeemed Gollum having tea and taters with Sam just made my day ---

I like that old Tony Randall film, _Will Success Spoil Orc Urak_ The song and dance numbers are simply fabulous. Those orcs can dance, let me tell ya. And who can forget _It’s A Numenor Life_, huh? Jimmy Stewart running around at the end, yelling, “We ride to Mordor, Mr Potter! We ride to Mordor, you wonderful old savings and loan!” But, my favorite cable show has to be the Middle Earth Network’s _Big Freakin’ Queer Eye For The Straight Maia_. Those faeries are a hoot! ---
