# Did anyone ever pee on the third rail??

i read in the straight dope book about this dude in new york that died peeing on the third rail. it was reprinted here at: [http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a1\_222b.html](http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a1_222b.html) .i bumped into this article at:[http://english.pravda.ru/fun/2001/08/10/12267.html](http://english.pravda.ru/fun/2001/08/10/12267.html)  
where this other nut did the same thing, but lived!! however, his package was ruined by the charge! (lol) any way, get this!!! the docs grew a new one on his arm!!! you gotta see this to believe it!!! i find the strangest crap on the net… (sigh)

In the article, I see that they say that the unfortunate person urinated on the “bald wire”. Does that expression really mean the fearsome “third rail” of the subway?
