# Did Jesus really exist? And what's with the Shroud of Turin?

Which meaning of ‘cross’ are you asking about. ‘Cross’ meaning ill-tempered seems to be an adjective and emerged much later.

Well, one meaning of “cross, _v.t._” is to do a thing that is problematic for the verb’s object, and, um, likely make them all cross.

It was just a lame attempt at a joke, to imply that the known current adjective / verb ‘cross’ meant also the act of going on a crucifix in Roman times.
