Well, I was curious, so I had to find out. I believe the story in question is “Von Goom’s Gambit” by a guy named Victor Contoski. Published in a book of short science fiction stories called **Mad Scientists** edited by Asimov. No need to thank me for this entirely meaningless contribution. It’s what I’m here for. ---

Disclaimer: AP probably doesn’t use tickertape or fax machines anymore, and if they did, they probably wouldn’t distribute shots of Australian girls in bikinis either. I can hear it now, the Apologistas carrying Rove out on their shoulders, crying aloud with glad voices “Technicaly, Not Indictable!” Well, sure, the White House used its assets to smear and undermine someone who had the unmitigated gall to speak truth to power. But, hey, everybody does it and this is war and look! over there! a shiny white woman, gone missing! And its a darn shame that a loyal public reptile…servant, public _servant_ like Rover should be pilloried because he loves America too much. Whether legal or not, it was underhanded and despicable. Our leaders are despicable. Be ashamed, be very ashamed. ---

Unless the grand jury discounts Cooper’s testimony as incredible, then we should see an indictment for Rove. (Obviously, this depends on the specifics of Rove’s testimony and any other evidence the grand jury considered that I’m not aware of). But based on this, it looks as though Rove should be indicted. ---
