“I once saw a forklift lift a crate of forks. And it was _way_ to literal for me.” The guy was truly unique. Though I knew he had some issues in the past, I really thought he was doing much better recently. Goddamn shame. ---

☹ I got to see Mitch Hedberg live in Seattle two years ago. I knew Lewis Black and Dave Attel were performing, but what convinced me to buy the tickets was Mitch. He’s probably my favorite comedian. Now I wish I’d stayed afterwards and gotten an autograph. ---

I thought I would have seen a story on CNN’s website by now. If they were willing to post a story about the suicide of former Dead Milkmen bassist Dave Blood – certainly not the most famous entertainer – then Hedberg deserves a mention! ---

I was a bar manager at the complex he performed at up here for years. I’ve met him 3 times times and spent some down time with him. An overdose isn’t shocking if that’s what it was. He liked to party. He was a “functional addict” if you will. This is a very sad day. And I waited all day to make this my last post because it’s so sad. Mitch, give my parents a good show, you’re a natural at making people laugh. ---
