I know he even did so in Moonstruck, but I think maybe he didn’t in Guarding Tess. ---

I saw a clip from a movie he made in high school. He was Nick Caging in that. ---

_Leaving Las Vegas_. He won an Oscar for it (deservedly) so it would be tough to classify it a stinker. Also agree on _Adaptation_. And I’ll add _Matchstick Men_ although maybe there was some subtle Caging that I’m forgetting. ---

“Birdy” was great (and very difficult to find nowadays; not sure why) and much more recently, he played a widowed mushroom hunter in “Pig”, which really isn’t about the pig at all. That was a very good movie. ---

I don’t think he Caged in _Valley Girl_ or _Peggy Sue Got Married_, but I can’t guarantee the latter. But boy did he in _Moonstruck_. “HE HAS HIS CAGE!” ---

I think Cage stayed focused in _National Treasure._ I don’t remember any hammy scenes. But it’s been years ago. He may have reverted to form in a scene or two. I remember it wasn’t a very good movie. ---

_Matchstick Men_ and _The Weather Man_ are both fantastic and he’s pretty restrained in both. _Lord of War_ is also great, but he has a few scenes of Cage-osity. ---

I frequently get Nick Cage mixed up with Nick Nolte.
