# Did Obama veto the 9/11 Bill allowing victims to sue the Saudi Government?

There has been no news on this for over a week. Does anyone know if he has, or when he will make a decision on it?

Google News allows you to search articles from the past 24 hours. Or even the past hour. That brings up any number of news reports saying that while his press secretary announced that Obama will veto the bill, he hasn’t yet.

[The bill has passed the House and Senate](https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/114/s2040). No information it has been sent to the president.

The president will veto the bill in order to [protect sovereign immunity](http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/10/us/politics/house-911-victims-saudi-arabia.html).
