I’ve been unable to access the SD for the past two days. I don’t see any anouncements anywhere. WTF??? Anyone got the skinny? (BTW, the speed is remarkable for this time of the evening. I’m hoping it was maintenance, like installing a decent server maybe?) ---

Pipes froze and broke on the top floor of the Chicago Reader building, drenching their T-1 connection (and I gather other stuff) and taking them offline. There were notices on boards “related to” SDMB as to what had happened. Would somebody there kindly convey our appreciation to **jdavis** and the other Tech Deities for the fast work getting things back up?!? 🙂 ---

And I thought it was just me or my ISP’s DNS servers… Rather tangentially reminds me of “Mr Bean’s Diary” - in the middle there are suddenly a few blank pages…then, all of a sudden a few days on an entry that says: “My diary! I found it!” ---
