Every other word was “fuck” or “fuckin’”; why they didn’t bleep this, I don’t know. Maybe the interview was live, or maybe Brando was just too big a star to censor like that.

I don’t see the “shock value” in cursing out in bad taste or saying stupidly vulgar things in shows/live broadcasts, it’s not appealing or appropriate in any way.

I don’t have time to watch it right now, but the date seems to be about right. However, I remember Brando being dressed much more casually (barefoot, even) and reclining on a lounge chair on a veranda. At one point, Larry King showed him something (I don’t remember what) and he said “What the fuck is that?” As I recall, he seemed to be high on something throughout the interview.

_NYPD Blue_ broke quite a few network barriers.

One of Franz’s earliest lines in the show, even before the very first opening credits, was in response to a DA (later to become his wife) who was criticizing him for screwing up a case.

**ADA Costas:** I’d say _res ipsa loquitur_, if I thought you knew what it meant.

**Sipowicz (grabbing his crotch):** Hey, ipsa this, you pissy little bitch!

The show frequently used terms like dickhead, piss off, asshole, tits. And we got to see Dennis Franz’s ass, and a whole lots of other asses too.

Was Hawkeye really the first to say “bastard” on TV (as a swear)?

He clearly _ **wasn’t** _ allowed to say it, but I remember Slash accepting an American Music Award and beginning his speech with, “I wanna thank fuckin’…oops.”

Found it. [Video here.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJnpwGRUoFA)

In my memory, there was an immediate cut to the V.O. guy - “The American Music Awards will be back after this message.” Don’t know if that’s faulty memory, or if this video is from a different source. It still made me sit up and think, “did he just say that?”

IMDb - “The Trial of Henry Blake.” Margaret is using a neck vibrator on Frank’s shoulders and head. Hawkeye says [the line](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0638459/trivia?tab=qt&ref_=tt_trv_qu).

In the original “Prison Break” One character is with a hooker and she says: “A Cleveland _what_?” And he replies, “I’ll talk you through it.”

There was a reference to this on _ **Two and a Half Men** _ the other night. But then, there’s almost nothing they don’t say on that show.

On _ **Hill Street Blues** _, a police sniper was reprimanded for shouting “Got the sonuvabitch!” after he took down a perp; news cameras caught the whole thing. This was 1983-ish.

In 1986, on _St. Elsewhere_, Ed Flanders had the first bare-assed scene on network television as Dr. Westphall (Flanders) dropped his pants and mooned his new supervisor, Dr. Gideon (Ronny Cox) with the words, “You can kiss my ass, pal.”
