Did Trump not know that he was giving Bannon a seat on the NSC?

This could be fake news, but I still want to keep repeating it.

Yes, and if anyone did that in a real organization they will be shit canned in seconds.

I never said the fact that he dictates his tweets means anything. Someone asked if he did and I stated that he says he does. I never even said he’s illiterate. I said you can make a case that he seems to be.

Yeah, and if you had a video of Trump pulling off that stunt, we might be impressed.

Instead, what we have are multiple videos of Trump staring blankly at the printed page, and then finding excuses to not read anything aloud.

As of the 6th he’d been President for less than three weeks. So when were these interviews actually done? Were they actually done? This strikes me as just a Jayson Blairesque piece of fiction.

They’re leaks. People in the WH are spilling these nasty stories on their own volition. So they may not all be 100% accurate, but I’d generally assume that someone did, in fact, tell the reporters these stories and someone else did, in fact, corroborate them. If the stories are false, blame the leakers - and think about their motives.

Jayson Blair was not working the WH beat. You really think the relevant editors at the NYT are accepting made-up fantasies from their WH reporters?

How much time do you think it takes to do a quick interview over the phone with a White House insider? This strikes me as a very odd quibble. We’re not talking about an official interview set up for some other purpose here, we’re talking about journalists reaching out for word on what is actually going in in the WH and/or insiders reaching out to journalists to vent their frustration.

I agree, it’s a very strange fact to dispute. Interviews can be by phone, email and over beers after work. Several news reports have noted how much this administration leaks. Not only that, there seems to be significant push back from career civil servants, including in the intelligence community who are leaking information. Their motives probably range from petty jealousies to people sincerely concerned about the fate of the nation.

Certainly; and over the phone it doesn’t even have to be a White House insider. Just someone who says they are.

I have to ask, do you honestly think that the NY Times doesn’t verify that their sources are who they say they are, especially for a major story about the president? If so, can I ask the source for that belief?

Cute.
