The office is shaking here in Northern VA. Are we having an earthquake? It lasted about 30 seconds so it wasn’t a car crash or something like that. ---

Southern Maryland was shaking also. Scared the bedoobies outta me till I figured out what it was. Freaked out my cats and dog, too. ---

We felt it in Manhattan, too. It wasn’t that different from what you feel when a subway train passes right underneath you. ---

Was just going to ask this - was outside between buildings at my office & buildings and ground shook for 10-20 seconds. I’m in No VA off i-395 near King St & Seminary Road. No injuries, but several evacuated buildings. ---

I’m from California so I know earthquakes but they’re not supposed to happen here. This one was pretty strong too. I see the usgs site already has it listed. Glad to see I’m not crazy. ---

Things shook for a few seconds here in northern DE. First I thought it was someone working on the roof, but them my monitors started shaking on my desk. ---

We had a 5.3 quake in Colorado at just about midnight last night. That is extremely rare. Colorado is one of the most seismically stable parts of the country. ---

That was a 5.8-magnitude. The Pentagon and the Capital building were evacuated as precautions. I felt something but it didn’t occur to me that it was an earthquake, and then people started to notice the overhead lights were swinging in place. ---
