Did you believe in Santa Claus as a young child?

No. Jewish. My parents told me that the Easter Bunny and Santa didn’t exist but that I shouldn’t tell other children this because “their parents get to choose when to tell them.”

My folks never did the Santa thing. I don’t recall them telling us anything one way or another, but I don’t feel like I was warped as a child for not believing.

We sorta did Santa with our daughter, but she was too smart for her own good. She figured out that we were the tooth fairy, and probably about the same time, she figured out Santa. I don’t think she’s too warped, either…

Yes, but only until I was about 5.

My daughter is now just 5 and we have always been truthful with her. 1st, I do my best never to tell her any lie, and 2nd I think there is far too much unhealthly belief in the supernatural by both kids and adults. That said, we have been careful to coach her not to tell other kids unless asked directly.

In a country far away in 1959 I remember santa came on a moped. By the time he appeared at the door, a sack had magically appeared.

He was a rent a santa.
