# Did you ever call a "wedgie" a "snuggy"?

I always heard each of these used interchangably: snuggie, wedgie, melvin, and marvin. Weirdly, theres even a legal case about wedgies.

We called them “sumos”. Or would it be spelled “sumoes”?

This is such a rich thread! I grew up using Melvin for the rear action and remember being a bit uncertain if a “wedgie” was the same thing when I eventually encountered that term.

I’ve NEVER BEFORE heard that some folks consider a Melvin the front lift! Wow, always learning about our culture.

In Saskatchewan, the term I learned as a youth was “gotch pull” (“gotch/gitch” meaning “underwear”).
