It’s a cliche that people often go gay a bit in college, with its mix of horny, drunken kids tasting freedom. In my case, not really. I mean, I considered it, being drunk and horny, and thought of going to one of the first campus-wide gay dances just to get laid, but I don’t dance and my sartorial tastes run to jeans and flannel in the Age of Glitter. Plus I’m not really attracted to men and my head would’ve been turned by the first pretty lesbian who walked by. And the only guy who made a pass at me that I noticed (I’m slow on the uptake) looked like Charles Hawtrey, from the Carry On films. If I have a type that’s probably not mine. That having been the early-mid-'70s it’s for the best I didn’t experiment. :eek: But how about you? Were you just a little bit tempted? ---

No. I think some of my male peers may have been hinting when they were questioning whether I had considered experimenting when I came to college but I didn’t get a hint, if there was one. I wouldn’t have accepted if so. With regards to females, I also was oblivious except years later when it was obvious why a girl was always listening to what I had to say :smack: ---

In college in the 70s, ALL sex was an experiment. It was difficult enough managing sex with those of the opposite sex, and same sex was even more complicated. (At that point, not many would admit to any gay leanings, anyway). ---

Nope, I didn’t. I had a few dates with one guy, in high school, but it didn’t go beyond kissing. Joined the Army and got married while in. It was a close shave, but I was a virgin on my wedding night. ---

There were maybe two of three guys I knew who everyone suspected were gay, but never crossed my mind. It wasn’t something people thought about then. I went to a coed college with coed dorms\*. I don’t know what things were like at an all-male school. \*That was the new “thing” in the early 70s. ---

Nope. Whether drunk or sober I’ve never had the slightest sexual interest in my own gender. ---

When I was at university I went through a phase where I would put men in a glass-fronted box that had a panel with two levers and if they pulled the correct lever they would get a food pellet and if they pulled the wrong one they’d get an electric shock, and I would observe and write down the results. I was just experimenting with guys, though. ---

She certainly never knew about it, and I found out later that this kind of thing is not uncommon. ---
