# Did You Have A Mid-Summer Night's Dream?

All I recall was at the end of the dream I driving along in a big dune buggy, with some kids who didn’t seem to be mine. The headlights were large round globes that glowed like suns in the twilight - though how I could both see them **and** drive I’m not sure.

See, in Spain the solstice got slammed with St John the Baptist’s Birthday quite a few centuries back. So we don’t care what astronomers say, midsummer eve is the night of the 24th!

My brother is visiting from Spain this week and he was amazed that there are pretty much no midsummer celebrations in Scotland. It’s huge in Spain, a local festival but one which manages to take place in almost every single town.  
Did you guys know the Romans used to have 5 seasons? It worked out fine while they had a 10-month calendar, pity that calendar didn’t quite match the length of the year… but the thing is, there was something like 2 “summers:” “the time when the days are longest” and “the time when it’s too bloody hot to be outside at noon.”

Thank God. I dreamed I killed my sister :(. Left me with a bad feeling for all of Saturday. Here’s hoping for happier dreams tonight.
