# Did you know that google maps shows shipwrecks?

Here’s what you do:
[ol][li]On the top right hand corner there’s a box that says either satellite or map[_]immediately below that there’s another box with an arrow at the bottom[_]click on that arrow[_]now the box gets bigger, but it still has an arrow at the bottom[_]click the arrow again[_]now click Wikipedia[_]there’ll suddenly be W boxes everywhere - these are all wikipedia articles about something nearby[_]now zoom out, and go look at a bit of sea[_]click the W box of your choice in the sea - odds on its a ship wreckrinse, repeat[/li]

I can see the shipwreck that’s about 1 & 1/4 mile south of my house on Google maps satellite view. My dad salvaged some stuff off it back in the 1950’s. It sank in 1906. There are a few articles out there on the web about it, the Atlanta.
But wikipedia doesn’t show it at all. :mad:

It doesn’t show the Titanic either (as far as I can tell), nor the Andrea Gail (The Perfect Storm.)
