And if the empty space was removed from the bodies of everyone in the world, the physical result would be the size of a sugar cube.

According to this dude on History of Science. I can’t wrap my head around that.

[ul][li]Artichokes are flower buds. And if allowed to grow on the stalk, the fuzzy part you dig out to get to the heart after the leaves are gone [becomes a gorgeous purple flower](https://www.google.com/search?q=artichoke+flowers&safe=off&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=_feaUebfHKWqigLR-oEo&ved=0CC8QsAQ&biw=1366&bih=614)![/ul][/li][/QUOTE]
Also, [carrots make a lovely, delicately-scented flower](https://www.google.com/search?q=artichoke+flowers&safe=off&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=_feaUebfHKWqigLR-oEo&ved=0CC8QsAQ&biw=1366&bih=614#safe=off&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=carrot+plant+flower&oq=carrot+plant+&gs_l=img.1.1.0l10.5919.8445.0.10480.17.12.1.1.1.0.201.1275.0j7j2.9.0...0.0...1c.1.18.img.mPp98uCnYFA&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.48340889,d.cGE&fp=665ad45480d9b512&biw=1042&bih=616) if allowed to go to seed. 🙂

Did you know that things appear fluorescent because a molecule reflects light at a higher wavelength than the original light that was shone on it?

I think your hemisphere argument is flawed; Canada entered into WWI the same time as Britain (as we were a British colony at that time), and entered into WW2 in 1939. 🙂

Did you know that you can find out what the [outcome is for various procedures](https://data.medicare.gov/Hospital-Compare/Hospital-Outcome-Of-Care-Measures/f24z-mvb9) at any given hospital and how it compares to the national average? There’s also a separate database for [infections from procedures](https://data.medicare.gov/Hospital-Compare/Healthcare-Associated-Infections/ihvx-zkyp).

Here is the [main link](https://data.medicare.gov/data/hospital-compare) where you can download the complete dataset if you want to do your own coding, but the interactive system is very nice I have to say.

[What is the size and weight of the human stomach? - Answers](http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_big_is_a_human_stomach) No, you don’t. The stomach is quite small.
the [human intestine](http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080219154032AACCztn) is about 28nfeet long, plus about 8 inches of stomach.
Check your facts.

[Some atomic weights are now expressed as a range rather than a single number.](http://www.usgs.gov/newsroom/article.asp?ID=3615&from=rss) The latest heretics of the periodic table are bromine and magnesium

> [@](#):
>
> Atoms of the same element that have different masses are called “isotopes.” The atomic weight of an element depends upon how many stable isotopes it has and the relative amounts of each stable isotope present in a sample containing the element.
>
> Elements with only one stable isotope do not exhibit variations in their atomic weights. For example, the standard atomic weights for fluorine, aluminum, sodium, and gold are constant. Their values are known to better than six decimal places. Variations in atomic weight occur when an element has two or more naturally occurring stable isotopes that vary in abundance, depending on the sample.
>
> The standard atomic weights of magnesium and bromine will now be expressed as intervals to more accurately convey this variation in atomic weight. For example, bromine commonly is considered to have a standard atomic weight of 79.904. However, its actual atomic weight can be anywhere between 79.901 and 79.907, depending on where the element is found.

The crescent on the [State Flag of South Carolina](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_south_carolina) was not orignally intended to be a moon, but a [gorget](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorget). It orginally pointed upwards, until 1910, when the State Historian changed it to look like a crescent moon.
