did you or your friends ever use slugs at the video arcade

I never used a slug but I did cheat a game once. There is a game machine like roulette except you use a token as a ‘ball’ and drop it down a chute to time your shot as the wheel spins below it. It got extremely good at it and could hit the highest prize (100 tickets) without cheating consistently. However, I once walked up to it and noticed that an employee had left the key to the controller unit in it and the game was adjustable. I work on machine controllers for a living so it only took me less than a minute to slow that wheel way down and set the highest prize at the max of 500 tickets. It was constant massive payouts from that point on.

I don’t know if I am proud or ashamed to say that this was only a few years ago and I had my young daughters as accomplices. We milked that machine until it was out of tickets and then we hit the ticket score to take them for all of the worthless crap they had ever wished for. I think that was one of the first times in history when a parent spent $20 at a kid’s casino and actually came out with about that much in physical merchandise.

We had a pinball machine in our basement as kids so we could play all we wanted for free. I really wanted but I crappy ex brother got it !
We all had juke box too. So our friends could come to our house to play
pinball for free too.

Mostly the lot between the library and the Carnegie. That walk up the steps behind the Fine Arts Building was ---- not fun during the winter or warmer weather.

Or that great minds think alike — and sometimes those that attended Pitt do as well.
