The Modesto Bee and The Fresno Bee ran the “intern”, The Sacramento Bee’s Metro-edition ran the “masturbation” scene, the Sacramento Bee’s Foothill edition ran the “intern”. Don’t want them folks in the hinterland getting riled up. All three papers are McClatchy published. ---

The Houston Chronicle ran the masturbation strip, and I must say, I’m surprised. I always thought everybody in Houston was super-religious except for me and some of my friends. I look forward to the people who will cancel their subscription because of this. It doesn’t matter. The intern one was funnier, anyway. ---

My paper ran the CIA intern one, figures. But after the recent series of articles about race relations that resulted in lots of angry phone calls, some cancelled subscriptions, and one lost advertiser I was hoping signs of backbone were beginning to appear. Guess I was wrong. We are in a town that raised a ruckus until the paper removed For Better Or For Worse because of the storyline about the son’s gay buddy years ago. Although the strip recently reappeared here when a new executive editor came in. I read the masturbation one online, tame and lame. Papers yanked the strip over the use of the word “masturbation” and the weak “self-dating” joke?
