My brother was being harassed by some guys in school, so he bought them off with hard cider he made. I watched him gather a burlap sack full of granny smiths from our tree and extract the juice using his baseball bat. ---

I have a younger sister who never washed her hands after using the restroom, nor does she wash them before eating. She only washes them if they “look” dirty. Somehow she’s the healthiest person I’ve ever seen, I’ve legitimately never knew of her getting a cold or flu ever. ---

Well, my brother ate ants. He’d squish them with his thumb and lick them off, to the horror/admiration of the other neighborhood kids. Once he added water to our tube of toothpaste, to save time wetting his brush…and yet another time I found a bar of soap in our bathroom with a perfect bite taken out of it. Don’t know what he was thinking. ---

The soap sat on the toilet tank. One time, I started up a shower, reached for the soap, and it was not there. After some searching, I found the soap under the tub. It had tiny teeth marks all around the edges. We had rats. (And yes, I used the soap.) ---
