# Difficult Decisions: Car, or speaker wire?

Yeah, so … you’ve got a $150,000 stereo system and a set of $80,000 speakers to go with them. Great. But is your life _really_ complete without [8 feet of $12,000 speaker wire](http://www.elusivedisc.com/prodinfo.asp?number=AQ-SEVER8)? Go on, ply the plastic, you know you want it.

If I spent $80,000 on speakers, I’d be pissed if there wasn’t a spool of lamp cord in the box!

By the way, even at $12,000 for eight feet, they admit they’re not truly freakishly stupid-expensive and imply there’s more expensive wire out there:

People who buy $230,000 worth of stereo equipment proabably are not buying $12,000 cars.
