This is the Steam version but, yeah, no hot seat or LAN play. Solo (against AI) or online play. On the plus side, apparently online play works across all versions so someone on a PC can play against a friend with an iPad. ---

I don’t recall that. Was that a pricing error or something? 99.9% of the time the daily or flash sale is the best price so that’s when to strike. ---

I remember that. On the last day of (winter?) sale, they did a “Complete” bundle of SRTT with DLC for $13.49. I assumed it was a pricing error except it stayed up all day. ---

Current flash sales include Civ 5, Little Inferno $2.50, Football Manager 2013 $10, Duke Nukem 3d $3.39. If you want to get in on the SDMB [Multiplayer Civ 5 games](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=694995), you need the gold edition of Civ 5. You can either buy the base game + gold edition for $12.50, or if you already own the base game, pick the “gold edition upgrade” for $5. That gives you gods and kings and all the civ DLC. If you want to play with us you’ll need that. If you miss this chance I’m sure civ 5 will be a daily sale at some point, but might as well jump on it now. ---

Daily Chivalry - 6.24 FTL - 2.50 FEZ 2 - 5 Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 - 4.50 Surgeon Simulator - 3.39 Walking Dead - 6.24 Darksiders 2 - 10 Anno 2070 - 15 Just cause 2 - 3 COD Blops 2 - 30 Flash/community choice (4 hours left) Runner 2 - 7.50 Xcom - 10 Far Cry 3 - 24 Legend of Grimrock 3.75 GTA 4 - 5, or complete edition 7.50 Of those, Chivalry, Walking Dead, Just Cause 2, and FTL are highly recommended. JC2 and FTL at those prices are pretty much mandatory. SDMBers play chivalry fairly regularly. Grab all the DLC for JC2 also, might as well at that price. XCOM is good too although you may want to wait for $5 at some point in the future. The other games are about as cheap as they’ll ever get. ---

The “Action” category on Steam gives me, CoD:BLOPS, Bit Trip: Runner, DotA 2 and Joe Danger, 4 games that have about as much to do with one another as bricks, apples, measuring cups and sand. And don’t even get me started on the “RPG” category. I think this is why Steam is looking to allow people to create custom storefronts - because the idea of people as advocates of content is becoming so important. ---

Hmm. And to answer your request for assistance; Amazon does it’s filtering on the left hand side of the page. So if you start by: Shop By Deparment -\> Music, Movies and Games -\> Video Games Then you’ve got a bunch of filters on the left. You can click on Platform: PC, and then on the left (again) you’ve got Price, and Discount, and Average Customer Review, and Publisher and whatnot, and you can click on each one and they all STACK, so if you want games that are under $25 and more than 50% off, you can filter for that. The only “sort” option is in the upper right of your results, and it only has a couple of options, but the filters are pretty good, so you probably won’t need more than the sort options offered. ---

Soooo, Skyrim: Legendary Edition is $35.99 as the community choice right now (40% off). I was hoping that the regular edition of Skyrim might drop to 19.99 during this sale, but as soon as I saw the LE go up a few weeks ago, I doubted that it would happen. I know this game is a new classic and I probably should have bought it a long time ago, but what say you all: is this the best price I’m going to get it for this summer? No hard feelings if you’re wrong. 🙂 ---

Crusdar Kings II is the Steam daily sale. Most noteworthy is that the [Old Gods DLC is 75% off](http://store.steampowered.com/app/210908/) whereas it wasn’t discounted during the summer sale itself. ---

[Origin humble bundle](https://www.humblebundle.com/) Dead Space 1 and 3, Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box, Crysis 2 Maximum, Mirror’s Edge, Medal of Honor for $1 or more, Battlefield 3 and Sims 3 if you beat the average price (currently $4.69) Pretty ridiculous deal. But is it me, or is having a bunch of EA games basically the opposite of a “humble bundle”? I don’t know, just weird. Remember that if you’re not that thrilled with supporting EA, you could adjust the sliders so most/all of your money goes to charities. Edit: Oh, EA is giving all the proceeds to charity, not taking a cut of their own. Well, hard to say that’s evil. Good work, EA. ---

A Steam story: Just Cause was on sale yesterday for $2.99. “What a great deal!” says I. “Sure I don’t have time to play it now, but later? Sure!” Imagine my surprise when I learned that I already owned it. I’d picked it up during the Summer Sale (along with a hundred other games) and had completely forgotten about it. Damn you, Steam.
