I don’t have nearly as much as I did when we owned our home. I kept track of all the maintenance and construction, both hired and home, etc., and a folder for all the appliance manuals and left a useful pile for the guy who bought the place. Our real estate agent was very impressed. I understand about limiting the amount of paper, believe me. It’s the one thing about my wife that has always alarmed me: the piles of paper everywhere and her propensity to download and print everything because she doesn’t understand bookmarks. But while she’s very smart, computer files can be a problem for her, so if I die, she’ll know where things are: in the filing cabinet.
