No, not funny. His brain exuding out of his ass? Completely not funny.
Not funny at all. Gross and crude. I wonder if the OP finds fart jokes funny?
Dilbert has been getting less funny and more repetitive for years, I stopped reading it a while ago. Somehow I wasn’t surprised when Scott Adams emerged as a strident Trump supporter.
Yeah, sure, it’s funny until it happens to you.
Now that makes it funny!
Alternatively, it’s a depiction of where Scott Adams gets the material for his blog posts.
I was just telling a buddy today about this Dilbert cartoon that I thought was quite funny. Not so sure about the one in the OP, though…
SDMB is hardly a den of delicacy.
And while it’s a bit spooky, **Pulykamell **answered your question well. My first watching of the BS fart scene almost killed me; I wasn’t the only one who had to stand up to catch their breath.
The 11/30 strip made me … well, not laugh, exactly, but smile and blow air out my nose. (When I put it that way, it sounds gross.) The 12/1 strip, not so much.
Reading the strip John Mace linked to, I laughed (see above) at panel 1, but not at panel 3.
Youse guys are burying the lede here. Dilbert is still being produced? I had no idea.
What’s really crazy about Dilbert is that when it started (mid-nineties?), it was considered edgy humor.
How times have changed.
1989, but in the beginning it was a lot of random jokes about science and dinosaurs and awkward dates. It didn’t become well-known until the early mid-nineties when it started to focus on business/office humor, though.
Then, by not going back to the wider perspective, he ran it into the ground as it ran pretty quickly out of fresh gags. Only so many ways you can say the P-HB is a clueless jackass.
I agree, I liked the strip more before it became entirely work-themed. The very early strip where Dilbert discovered the subatomic planet “Minimus 6” still totally cracks me up, especially Dogbert’s line at the end while Dilbert is looking all upset. Or “how do dinosaurs have eggs?” and “Bob, are you aware that the egg will become a baby dinosaur?”. I generally find his early stuff quite amusing. Sometimes I still use this potato chip line when people badger me about not liking some kinds of food.
