> For Wally, how about either [Paul Giamatti](http://www.starpulse.com/Actors/Giamatti,_Paul/gallery/SGG-010831/) or maybe [T.J. Thyne](http://www.searchingbones.com/2008/06/08/tj-thyne-has-a-bunch-of-movies-coming-up/).

I nominate [Clint Howard](http://www.hotflick.net/flicks/2002_100_Women/002OHW_Clint_Howard_009.jpg).

No, I came into the thread and posted that without ever having read any Dilbert strips. I was just totally guessing and glomming details about the strip from other posts about it. I don’t read the strip, don’t own any collections, and don’t know any of the characters.

Jesus.

> I don’t find it that difficult to put a coherent storyline through the Dilbert universe. Put them on a big project with jobs on the line, maybe the company goes bankrupt if it fails. Cue Alice punching people, Wally slacking off, Catbert and PHB being their sadistic selves, Dogbert as Dilberts confidante/co-conspirator/tormentor. Dilbert spots a shy new secretary and has to do well with his project to get a date with her. There’s tons of stuff you could do here.

Your story is people trying to get a tech project done. That’s barely filmable, and again, you’re changing the very nature of Dilbert from object to subject.

You know what they could do…they could try to pull a Roger Rabbit, and have Dogbert, etc. as drawn characters in among the live action people. It would certainly fit the “wackiness is typical” vibe of the strip.
