Bibles aren’t officially banned here but will cause a hassle with customs if they see and recognize it. Lots of hassles at customs with religious items. The Buddhists and Hindus catch it the worst. Buddhists get hassled for their little pendants and Hindus catch it for their pictures of cows and the like. Testy ---

I have seen the light. See, the Islamic fundies are wrong, despite the Koran telling them that infidels are wrong, because the Christian fundies say Muslims are wrong, because it says so in the Bible. I have to say that I’m just a tad miffed. This is, what, Chick’s 4th anti-Muslims tract, yet gay folks only get _bupkes_! Oh sure, there used to be two, but _The Gay Blade_ went out of print and now we have just lame old _Doom Town_. Hey, Jack Chick gay people are _scary_! Woooga booga booga! Isn’t pitting Chick a bit like stealing candy from a baby, kicking a man while he’s down, fighting your way out of a wet paper bag, or falling off a log? I’m not laughing. While I’ve heard of Chick tracts on the boards, this is the first one I’ve ever actually seen, and it’s really upsetting. I knew there were people who hated Muslims out there, but I’ve never seen such deliberate, poisonous unmitigated hatred in my life. The depictions of Muslims with evil, twisted features were actually quite disturbing. I know that people like Chick are so bound to their racism and bigotry that they will never come to see Muslims as human beings, but I can’t help wishing that he can see some of the goodness and kindness that I’ve seen and come to change his views. not likely to happen in this lifetime, I know… God, that is really, really horrible ☹ ---

Is it just me or is he becoming a better cartoonist? His sense of pacing and perspective is coming into focus here. Not unlike Wendy Pini’s Elfquest he’s using camera location to bring a cinematic drama to the tracts. ---

**Bibliovore** , I’ll grant that that is one of his more nasty spewings of bullshit, but the point about Chick is that he’s always a hateful bastard. He portrays pretty much all those who disagree with him as twisted caricatures. Which is why it’s convention to put threads about him straight in the pit. Have a look around his site and look at the other tosh he writes - the best response to that sort of hate is to laugh at it.
