# Ding Dong the witch is dead- Hilditch sacked!

Cricket Australia has accepted a report into the slide of our team over the past few years and has restructured. This means that Hilditch- the chairman of selectors- is effectively sacked and Greg Chappell has been removed from the selection panel.

It is unlikely that coach Nielsen can survive.

What is wrong with schadenfreude?

As a long time Aussie cricket fan, I, like many, have been baffled at some of the national team selections in recent years.

Who or what is Steve Smith supposed to be? Neither his batting or his bowling is at a world class level, so why do I keep seeing him in Australian colours?

Why is Brad Haddin not treated like our number 1 wicket-keeper?

Why do the selectors rate being under the age of 26 so highly when picking our 20/20 team?

When did “all rounder” come to mean “can neither bat nor bowl at a world class level”?

Why does failure to be a world-class spinner qualify you to bowl spin for Australia? What cricket rule book says we must always pick the least-worst spinner our country has to offer?

I think it was around the time of Phil DeFreitas and Chris Lewis.
