Rather than continue my hijack of **Sublight** ’s [news thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=409807), I thought I should create a new one.
My email is in my profile if anyone needs more details:
Friday March 9, 7pm, outside exit #4 (at the top of the escalators, in front of the Wendy’s) of Azabu-Juban Station. Both the Nambuku and Oedo lines go through that station.
**Caractacus Pott** , if you’re coming in to Tokyo Station on the Shinkansen, you can take the Yamanote to Hamamatsucho and then the Oedo to Azabu-Juban… _or_ the Maranouchi line to Kokkaigijido-Mae and then Nambuku to Azabu-Juban.
We go to a great place near there called Yakinikuen (and you’ll never guess what kind of food they have…).
I realize it’s kind of early by Japanese standards. Sorry. I’m sure we can arrange later meetings at the restaurant if anyone can’t make it that early. However, if the majority of our party isn’t there fairly early, we’re in for a long wait at the restaurant.

And not that I’m adding a post just to subscribe to my own thread or anything, but after Yakinikuen, we usually go to [08:30](http://www.0830.org) in Hiro-o. On this occasion, I’ll still be somewhat jet-lagged, and I will have my mother and sons with me (their first visit to Tokyo!). However, it’s still possible that I (at least) will be going.

Glad to see **Caractacus Pott** , **TokyoPlayer** and **Sage Rat** are in! **Sublight** has already said he’s coming, plus I’ve got somewhere between four and seven more people coming. I’ll call Yakinikuen in advance (for a 7:30 seating to allow the stragglers to get there), since it seems we’ll have at least a dozen people.

Well, as **Sublight** knows, I follow pretty much the same schedule most Fridays when I’m in Tokyo. So, I’ll be there the following week as well if anyone’s interested.
Sorry you guys can’t make this event, though. There’ll be a lot of people you know, **Sublight** , including the ever-illusive Satomi! And, it’s likely we’ll be at 08:30 afterwards if you’re at the right end of Tokyo after the trains stop running… 😃
