> TRACES of protein have survived for more than 70 million years in dinosaur eggs from Argentina. They bear strong similarities to proteins from chicken eggs.
>
> The Anacleto formation, in Auca Mahuevo in Patagonia, is famous for its spectacular preservation. The eggs were laid by massive long-necked plant-eaters called titanosaurs. Buried by floods, the eggs fossilised unusually fast, preserving the soft tissues and tiny bones within.

And, I’m guessing that [this](http://www.newscientistspace.com/article.ns?id=mg18524824.400&feedId=dinosaurs_rss20) is where we acquired the taste for chicken from.

> Named _Repenomamus giganticus_ and _Repenomamus robustus_, the sturdily built mammals lived in China about 130 million years ago, around 65 million years before we thought their kind inherited the Earth. At 1 metre long, _R. giganticus_ was big enough to hunt small dinosaurs, and a newly discovered fossil of its smaller cousin, _R. robustus_, died with its belly full of young dinosaur.
>
> This totally overturns the notion of dinosaur-age mammals as tiny and nocturnal, says vertebrate palaeontologist Hans-Dieter Sues of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. “Apparently some mammals could grow much larger than anyone had thought was possible.” In another role reversal, those comparative mammalian giants may have affected dinosaur evolution by preying on them, adds palaeontologist Anne Weil of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

Mammals: Kicking ass and taking names for over 130 million years. 😃

Hmph, I figured they’d taste like **Tastee Wheat**

But I HAVE heard you can substitute Tofurkey in a pinch if you’re a little low on Pteranodon.

Yeah, but _everything_ that isn’t beef tastes like chicken.

Except for those that taste like fish. 🙂

I’m sure I read a story once, where a small dinosaur encounters the first time portal, enters, and manages to fry itself in the now-side lab. The scientists approach to clean up the mess, suddenly smell the cooked meat, and immediately devour it, forgetting about everything else.

Not only do dinosaurs taste like chicken… they taste _better_ than chicken. They are the Perfect Meat.

And that explains why there aren’t any of them left.

Right away, I started hearing that “Big Buckin’ Chicken” song from the fast food commercial.
