Well, I WILL say for now that “Chimp” includes his old fundie meme about a VAPOR CANOPY that collapses to make a GLOBAL FLOOD happen. :dubious: Of course, the conditions that would make such an OCEAN of water floating above the earth possible would also preclude ANY life on earth. But so what?! Scientific extrapolations are only made by scientists. So god saved the “dragons” from the flood, but forgot that they needed plenty of 0[sub]2[/sub] in the air? Or was he just being an asshole again with the old bait and switch? ---

[/QUOTE] Good point. But here’s something else that didn’t occur to Jack-THE-Chimp. The Ark settled on a mountain. (Actually it says “in the mountains of Ararat,” but Jack and his fellow fundies rewrite this to say it was Mt. Ararat.) The **“dragosaurs”** would not have survived the even lower concentration of oxygen at high altitude. Not even long enough to climb down. JTC makes the general lower concentration of oxygen more-or-less a medium inconvenience, except that they were hunted down by post-deluge humans. Judging by the clothing of the hunters shown he apparently believes that they survived until the Middle Ages. They would still exist today, no doubt, if we folks didn’t find them so tasty. :dubious: (Do you suppose he has a cite about being tasty?) And besides, it’s a little hard to imagine ANY large land animal descending a mountain slope. Or any contrivance to transport them down. * * * Finally, notice how Chimp gets mixed up on terminology. He insists that “dinosaur” was a word invented in the 1800’s. But he has some people in the dragon-hunting age use the term. * * * True Blue Jack ---

It’s hard to concede that Hannah-Barbera had it right all along. And I just find it sad that through our sins we brought the flood upon us that killed all the dinosaurs. And because of that no one will ever enjoy yummy dino-burgers again. But that’s the price of **sin** , my boy. ---

Ya know, it’s kinda funny. I learned here at SDMB that these crude cartoons are actually called “Chick Tracts”. I had always thought (because I mis-heard the title when I was young?) that they were called “Shit Tracts”. :smack: I didn’t find this at all curious because I have NEVER seen any of these things anywhere EXCEPT in a public restroom! More ignorance fought and defeated! 😛 ---

I think Chick is mistaken about something - dragons [dinosaurs] can’t be just regular old critters. Seems to me that they were giant (there _are_ Giants in the **Bible**!) versions of the dreaded [Baphomet Lizard](http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/1036/1036_01.asp?wpc=1036_01.asp&wpp=b). Obviously The Saviourtm and _John the Baptist_ dispatched the larger ones with their Glory, and left only the smaller spine-dwelling varieties to punish Freemasons (Antichrist). Dragonosaurs on the Ark? That’s just crazy talk. ---
