In the military, training officers insisted on saying “incennerrary” instead of “incendiary”. It was like nails on a chalkboard. And let’s not even get into (oh hell, why not?) “prima dona”. I’ve actually seen this one written pre-Madonna. Would that be Cher? ---

There’s some interesting accents around here. A woman in Mississippi last week put more syllables into the word “you” than I have EVER heard, and a woman today here in New Orleans managed to pronounce “card” as “coh-er-ud.” But those aren’t mispronunciations. Would somebody PLEASE tell Shrub it’s NUCLEAR, not NUKULAR??? ---
