OK, hold on. Do you (Will) want other people to be able to download the actual files themselves, or just a listing of the file names? If all you want is people to be able to access a listing of the files, we have gone way off track.

OK, I just re-read this part, so I think we’re on the same page. To summarize, again, assuming I’m understanding what it is you want to do, you should follow these steps:
1. Copy (upload) all the files from your CDs/DVD to the web server.
2. Add the “Options +Indexes” line to your .htaccess file.
3. There is no step 3.
You know, as another alternative, you might consider something like [box.net](http://www.box.net). It’s just a place where you can store files and let other people download them. It’s pretty slick. It does cost money, but you can try it for 2 weeks for free.
