_Dirty Harry_, 1971 begins with a close-up of a Granite memorial with the following inscription.

The memorial is inscribed with a list of Slain Officers Names and date of death. I copied the first three. Google confirms their authenticity.

Is the Granite memorial real?
Google makes no mention of it either way.
I’m certain other people have asked the same question.

> The movie opens with a tribute to those police officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the people of San Francisco. Then … A set of marble panels on a wall lists all of the fallen from 1878 to the present time.

Your Google foo is a lot better than mine.

I spent an hour trying various search terms.
Found lots of slain police officers. No memorial.

Tribute is one word I never considered or tried. I was searching for police memorial. Like the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

Thank you.

Gosh… 😪
and Now, since then 20 more names have been added to the tribute list.

I’ve started watching the movies again.

A simple Google search for “IN TRIBUTE TO THE POLICE OFFICERS OF SAN FRANCISCO WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE LINE OF DUTY” provides results about the SFPD Wall of Honor, at the SFPD headquarters.
