Is anyone watching this show? Man, I LOVE it! It is such deliciously wicked fun!

Last night’s episode (12/3) was awesome. Love to hate Simon Elder. Love, love, love Karen Darling (damn, she’s gorgeous!). Love how sweetly manipulative (and smart!) Jeremy Darling is. Love how Letitia is slowly going over the edge. Love hard-nosed soft-heart Brian.

I hate Lisa and I’m so glad Nick left her. She is really a self-absorbed bitch. And when she comes off like that compared to the Darlings. . .!

And what can I say about Donald Sutherland as Tripp Darling. He is just the epitome of suave and cool and brilliantly evil.

I _really_ hope they don’t cancel this show, as threatened.

Nick left his wife? The writers turned her into a bitch?

I watched the first few episodes of S1. Hated Karen with a passion, which is pretty much how I feel about **any** woman who goes after a married man, even if she really “loves” him. I couldn’t get past that so I stopped watching.

I’m glad it’s working for you though. Appointment TV can be a good thing.

Didn’t this show already get canceled? Or if not officially, it wasn’t picked up for the entire season which is usually the end of the road for a series, right?

> It’s not a big surprise, but for many of us, it’s a big disappointment. ABC has cancelled “Pushing Daisies,” “Dirty Sexy Money,” and “Eli Stone”! The network has not actually used the word “cancelled,” but it is not picking up the shows for the second halves of their seasons. Which, essentially, means cancellation.

I l-o-v-e-d the first season, but I just couldn’t stick with the second- I stopped watching. I miss Juliet (the other twin) this season, I’m sad Brian left the church- it was funnier when he was a total contradiction as a priest, it seems to have gotten more serious and less insane/darkly comical/fun, which is what I really loved about the first season.

Well, they separated. As to whose idea it was first, I can’t recall. But yes, she’s a self-centered, hypocritical bitch. She lied to Nick about opening an art gallery, whines at him about Karen still being in love with him, even though he keeps her at arm’s length, yet had a massive make-out session with Jeremy (of all people!).

Well it _is_ trash TV, after all. But I give her a teeny pass (in context of the show - I wouldn’t in real life) because they have a long history, used to date, were in love at one time, and she always thought they’d end up married. And given who she is and the family she comes from, she of course has a wee bit of a sense of entitlement. Plus, I hate Lisa and would love to see Nick and Karen get together, so to me, it’s fun to watch the dynamic between the three of them.

**HelloNinja** , that’s what I was talking about. I hope they don’t actually go through with canceling it. My husband keeps seeing Donald Sutherland on the lot (saw him yesterday walking his dog, as a matter of fact), so it seems like they’re still in production, which I hope is a good sign.

**xanthous** , I think we finally found something we disagree about! I couldn’t stand Juliet and was thrilled when she left the show (sorry to hear that the actress left to go into rehab for a drug problem, but not surprised). It was like being subjected to Paris Hilton among the likes of Donald Sutherland and Jill Clayburgh. Juliet was a mindless twit with no redeeming qualities and her absence actually lifts the quality of the show.

And this season does still have that insane/darkly comical/fun stuff. You should see Letitia going over the deep end. It’s brilliantly creepy.

One thing I do agree with you about is that I wish Brian were still a Priest. But he’s still hilarious just the same. And I wish they’d bring back Carmelita, too!

Sorry you aren’t enjoying it anymore. ☹

I’m another one who was a fan last year and couldn’t stand how they destroyed the show this year.

Everything became a _gasp_ moment.

The wife is dead. _gasp_

Nick is made company head _gasp_

Letitia is arrested _gasp_

Nick has to defend her _gasp_

Jeremy is sleeping with the ADA _gasp_

Jeremy and Nick’s wife _gasp_

Simon _gasp_

Karen _gasp_

Tripp _gasp_

Nick _gasp_

_gasp_ _gasp_ _gasp_ _gasp_

No personalities, no characterization, no plot, no fun. Just jolts.

I saw an article saying that they will have an ending and reveal Nick’s father’s killer. And it will be a surprise. _gasp_

I loved when Ellen’s brother said, “She never liked you” or something like that and Karen said, “Well, that’s disappointing! I always considered her a friend.” Her delivery of that line was priceless.

I thought they were going to leave it with that cliffhanger until after the new year, but my cable system program guide says that there’s a new episode tomorrow night. And the suspicious brother-in-law has guaranteed that he will never be believed.

Me, too! You’d think the “spoiled rich girl” character would be so one-dimensional, but Natalie Zea is really good at making you see so much personality and spirit in Karen. If they do cancel this show, I hope she can spin long-term success out of this role.

YAY! But. . . I just saw what the title of tomorrow night’s episode is, and it’s making me very sad to think about what it probably means. ☹ Don’t look if you don’t want to potentially be spoiled: It’s called, “The Organ Donor”

He really went over the deep end, didn’t he?! I like Scott Holroyd, too. I used to watch him on As The World Turns, and was pleased to see him show up on a prime time show of this calibre.

And **xanthous** , if you’re still checking this thread, you might be pleased to know that Brian is going back to the Church!

Yep. I have a feeling it’s going to be

Carmelita who dies. Which sucks because she’s the most genuinely GOOD person on the show. Though Jeremy did get an awful conk to the head, and head injuries are a good bet for organ donations. Still, I’m betting Carmelita is a goner.

That was my first thought as well. There are several possibilities, but I think it’s most likely to be that character.

</div>

Well, things could take a really surprising twist:

Carmelita could have been shot in the nether regions, meaning there would be the loss of an organ, which would require surgery and…well…I am not sure if her sexual equipment has ever been fully disclosed, but this would certainly make her more of a woman kinda sorta maybe…and better equipped, so to speak, to be an official spouse for the Senator…

> In the hospital, Andrea wakes up and asks for Brian, Jr., but he’s with his grandma. Brian says Andrea will see him at home, but she says she’s not coming home. He thinks the experimental drugs will kick in and she’ll be home soon. She says she won’t and she needs him to say it. She needs to know he can say she’s going to die and that he can be strong for Brian, Jr. She begs him to say it. And it’s so weird how much she looks like her dead Laura Palmer in Twin Peaks when they have her all made up like she’s near death. He finally says she’s going to die, and then they both start crying and hug and tell each other they love each other.
>
> . . .
>
> Brian enters Tripp’s office, and Tripp asks how his “lovely bride” is doing. He’s sickeningly sweet, and I don’t know what to make of it. Brian tells Tripp how bad it is: She has about 10 white blood cells and can’t eat solid foods. Tripp tells Brian he should be with her, since Tripp can manage the business without him. Brian’s skeptical since last he checked Tripp had partnered with Simon elder. Brian’s like, “What about me? You told me good things were ahead.” . . . Tripp tells him good things will happen for him. But Brian says Tripp, Simon, and Nick leave very little room for Brian. And then he tells Tripp that there’s not enough time left in life, and this isn’t what he wants. He quits.
>
> . . .

> Brian’s in a hall at the hospital, where he runs into his former bishop. The bishop says he was praying and thinking of Brian earlier and now here he is again. Brian’s like, “Yeah, great,” and tries to walk off, but the bishop points out that his six month suspension is up now. Brian says it went fast. The bishop asks if he’s thought about coming back to the church and Brian says, “Not so much.” The bishop tells him God might be calling him back, but Brian says he’s not. He wants the bishop to give God a message for him, though: “The fact that we’re all dragged here through time and space and then made to suffer and die? Really sucks.” Amen.
>
> . . .

> Brian’s in the church praying angrily to God, and it’s seriously beautiful and gives me hope for this show again: “This is you, being you. I get that. This is what you do. You bring us into this world, you make it incredibly hard to feel at home here and then right when we finally realize that this is where we want to be, you force us out – all part of your wonderful, unknowable plan. Look. She’s dying. She thinks she’s ready, but here’s the thing: I’m not. And neither is our kid. You want me to pray? I’ll pray. Please don’t take her. She’s got a few more paper chains to make for a few more Christmas trees. A few more birthday parties to arrange. Cupcakes to ice for a few more years. At least give us K through 12.” And then he breaks down a little bit, and says, “It was just getting good.” Then he gets really mad: “You want me back, then you step up and show me what you can do for me.” He drops some money in the collection box and says, “If you do, I’ll do whatever you want.”

He’s telling them to take meticulous notes because Andrea’s value as a research subject can’t be overstated. Brian walks in and starts pushing people around, telling them to get away from her. He even pushes their regular doctor, who tells him this is a teaching hospital and when something unexpected happens, they teach. What’s unexpected? The drug is working. Her white cells are up slightly. There’s reason to hope. Apparently, God really wanted Brian back in the fold.
>
> . . .

> Brian’s back at the church telling God, “Okay, okay, you friggin’ win.” Heh. The bishop comes in and asks what Brian’s doing there. Brian tells him he can have him back if he still wants him. The bishop says it has little to do with him, but he’s sure the Lord is pleased. He asks what changed Brian’s mind, and Brian says he had a revelation. He realized that working for Darling Enterprises wasn’t getting him what he wanted, but he can get what he’s looking for right here. The bishop asks what he means, and Brian says he’s saying he wants the bishop’s job.
