# Disappearing thread?

I tried to click on a thread in IMHO called “Am I the world’s oldest virgin?” Mainly because it was authored by “Dr. Emmitt Brown,” and everyone knows that _Back to the Future_ is the greatest movie ever made. However, I was told I didn’t have the privileges to reach that page, and tha my account may be disabled. Then the thread disappeared.
What happened?

Usually when this happens, the thread was posted by a returning sock and the mods prefer you PM or email them to find out what’s up, in order to avoid giving the banee undue attention (see [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=423365) or [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=423267))
Mods, given that there are three of these now on the front page of ATMB, perhaps a sticky would be useful. Something like "If a thread has gone missing…"maybe.

I suspect that I agree with you. I’ll raise the subject after the weekend.
