Here are a couple of covers that I’ve recently discovered. **[Smalltown Boy by Emmon.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YouJ8Iq7W0A)** This is a cover of the [popular 1984 song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xuz94ZIPfJk) by Bronski Beat. It remains faithful to the original while using more modern instrumentation. It results in a more haunting sound that goes well with the story the lyrics tell. [Your Loving Arms by Karen Overton.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntcE_-4q_rk) This is a major reinterpretation of the [1995 minor pop hit by Billie Ray Martin](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8e6eZWRkXLM). It changes the original into a sultry downtempo dance tune. ---

The original was a poppy up-tempo tune. Ella on the Run turns it into a smooth down-tempo number. ---

I love the [Allman Bros version of, “Dreams”](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rK_5cJpM06k), but I also love [the version by Molly Hatchet](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTZHHQplIX8). They’re fairly different, even though they both heavily feature great guitar work. LOVE Duane’s solo, but Molly Hatchet brought their own sound to the song. ---

The whole of “Un-Led-Ed” by Dread Zeppelin. They are a band that do Led Zeppelin songs reggae-style, and the singer is an Elvis impersonator. :eek: I’m not making this up. This is probably their best-known song; hard to believe it’s almost 30 years old.
