I can’t find a source for who Israel approved for release. This is the best information I found, from the [Times of Israel](https://www.timesofisrael.com/full-text-of-the-hostage-ceasefire-agreement-reached-between-israel-and-hamas/): > - The 9 ill and wounded from the list of 33 will be released in exchange for the release of 110 Palestinian prisoners with life sentences. > - Israel will release 1,000 Gazan detainees from 8 October, 2023, that were not involved in 7 October, 2023 > - The elderly (men over 50) from the list of 33 will be released in exchange for an exchange key of 1:3 life sentences + 1:27 other sentences. > - Avera Mengistu and Hisham al-Sayed — will be released according to an exchange key of 1:30, as well as 47 Shalit prisoners. > - A number of Palestinian prisoners will be released abroad or in Gaza based on lists agreed upon between both sides. Do you know if a life sentence means conviction for murder? Obviously some of the Shalit prisoners were convicted of murder but it doesn’t say which ones were recaptured and which are being returned this round. ~Max ---

It’s your lot who have been trying to make a race war out of this. I’m “smugposting” as you put it because I have been vindicated by history. I’ve been hearing for a year and change that Israel’s intentions are purely genocidal, that they would never stop until all 2 million Gazans were dead or exiled, that the evacuees would never be allowed to return and their land would be used to build “colonies” for “settlers”, that it was only a matter of days before everyone starved to death, that every single incident of collateral damage was proof Israel was murdering women and children for fun, that I was a racist for not demanding that the Jewish people link arms and march into the Mediterranean, that Hamas was completely blameless for the suffering of its people and had absolutely no agency in the matter. And here Israel is, ending the war only 98% short of wiping out the Gazan people and committing itself to helping the Gazans rebuild. It’s no wonder Banquet\_Bear won’t even show his face - he must be disappointed that there’ll be no more bloody shirts to wave. ---

The fact that Israel is agreeing to this at all utterly disproves the phony genocide narrative that is and has always been Russian-backed propaganda intended to divide the left and get Trump elected. I haven’t. I have no sympathy for religious lunatics who think they’re entitled to land because they think a god promised it to them 3,000 years ago. Israel should let it be known that it won’t be providing for their security if they insist on living in Palestinian territory. That’s an entirely different issue than Gaza. ---
