Such as halting Israel’s persistent policy of genocidal and ethnic-cleansing attacks, along with abuse and torture of prisoners and continued territorial expropriation by expanding settlements. That would reduce some very severe problems currently inflicted on Palestinians very considerably. The people who refuse to advocate for those desperately needed fixes because they claim to be totally focused on a more ideally just and harmonious solution that, conveniently, will remain in the theoretical future until and unless sovereignty conflicts and Palestinian acts of terrorism have completely disappeared are, let us just say, not arguing in entire good faith. ---

So oppressing, raping, brutalizing, and murdering Palestinians is okay because they don’t want to be Israeli citizens? If they decided they wanted to be Israeli citizens, would that suddenly make it wrong? ---

No no no, see, any Palestinian violent uprising automatically turns all Palestinians into terrorists who have no rights or legitimate claims, while automatically nullifying any and all terrorism and oppression inflicted on Palestinians by Israelis. Ultimately, Palestinian violence is what Israeli hardliners and expansionists **want**. Because as long as Palestinians can be portrayed as an undifferentiated mass of violent antisemitic terrorists (or even just as a quasi-sentient lumpenproletariat hopelessly under the thumb of violent antisemitic terrorists), we can continue ducking the question of Palestinians’ legitimate claims to rights and sovereignty. ---

Doesn’t seem to have been much of a topic here, but Zionists all over the internet have been moaning about MUH BLOOD LIBEL after the NYT published a piece reporting on the IDF having Palestinian prisoners raped by dogs. Some have just claimed that it’s inconceivable that the IDF could do such a thing because they are so moral, but many are claiming that it would actually be impossible to train dogs to do such a thing. As long as Hamas refuses to acknowledge Israel’s legitimacy, they can’t be part of a meaningful solution. I agree, but presumably you are aware that the present Israeli government policy is that there will never be any sort of Palestinian State under any circumstances. Would you say that the Likud can’t be part of a meaningful solution? ---

Netenyahu is the Trump of Israel. I’d even go so far as to call him the Palpatine of Israel with the way he’s tried to use the Palestinian situation to stay in power indefinitely and try to make an autocrat out of himself. He needs to go and I’m hopeful the Israeli people will agree when the next election finally happens later this year. ---
