What the fuck do Palestinians in the West Bank have to do with Hamas? You appear to have no knowledge at all of the geopolitical circumstances of the region. ---

Right. BDS has a generally consistent position. I agree with a good portion of it - economic pressure needs to be exerted on Israel so that it experiences real consequences for its unapologetic settlement expansion in the West Bank. The wealth of college students and others who just discovered Israel in October and immediately began protesting with “from the river to the sea” suggests to me that Hamas propaganda is working. Ironically, as I’m typing this on my lunch break, I noticed a lady next to me with a tote bag depicting Israel + WB in red and green. Not a big supporter of the two state solution apparently. ---

Look at the title of the thread. It’s about the Hamas attacks against Israel. My response was to the idea that supporting Palestine on day one of the attack was questionable. Maybe you should start a new thread about the sainted people in the West Bank. ---

What the fuck are you talking about? The West Bank has nothing to do with Hamas. Israeli settler violence against peaceful West Bank civilians has nothing to do with Hamas. ---

No, that doesn’t follow at all, and in fact life expectancy in Gaza in the last 18 years hasn’t been particularly short. Life expectancy in Gaza is roughly the same as in the US (around 76), and longer than in, say, Mexico (70) (though worse than Israel (80)) It’s not that most of the older people died, it’s that a lot of new people were born. ---

That was a lazy assumption. To be fair, it’s in response to someone who’s all for the collective punishment of all Gazans in any location and blames Hamas for settler terrorists, so I don’t really care. Point to Babale. ---
