Any notion that the US props up Israel in _financial_ terms is fiction. US aid is about 0.7% of GDP. Israel has a big economy.

In crisis, however, ample liquidity is always important. Plus, of course, aside from the $ cost the US has the will and capability to supply military resources quickly.
