No, it is not evidence that Iran did it. Like I said, just speculation.
When Israel paid for ISGAP, there was actual paper evidence.. Even though they tried to cover it up, unlike most other academic bodies receiving foreign grants.
But go ahead, trust their word. Let the hasbara flow.
There isn’t anything new in the report. There isn’t anything in that report that hasn’t already been repeated over and over again in this very thread. The deliberate targeting of children. The deliberate engineering of the famine. The deliberate destruction of the healthcare system. Its all been documented here as it happened.
And we are now in probably the darkest phase. For now. They are razing Gaza City. People are escaping to the south, finding that there is no food, no water, nowhere to stay, so they are returning to the north facing almost certain death, because there simply isn’t anywhere else to go. The report makes it clear that “all States need to fulfil their legal obligations under international law to end the genocide and punish those responsible for it.”. We are beyond the point of just hoping that Israel are going to stop.
That’s only true if there is no hope for surrender by Hamas. All suffering under their rule could be eliminated the next day if Arab countries would take in the refugees.
…Hamas has agreed to step down from power, hand over to an independent Palestinian governing authority, and to release all of the hostages in exchange for ending the war.
What are you talking about?
Gaza is their home. Why are you talking about them having to leave their home?
More correctly: nobody wants to be complicit with ethnic cleansing.
…you may have missed the “in exchange for ending the war” part. They haven’t done it because Israel have shown no sign or wanting to end the war.
A reminder that earlier this year a ceasefire was in place. The hostages were being released. Then when it was supposed to move to the next phase of the ceasefire, Israel literally blew the ceasefire deal up. It ended it for no justified reason, killing over 400 people in one of the bloodiest days of this “war.”
And a reminder that only a few weeks ago the US put another peace deal on the table, and when the Hamas negotiating team got together to discuss that offer, Israel tried to kill them.
You make it sound so easy. But the reality is Israel (as in the government) don’t want this to end. Israel has continually failed to negotiate in good faith, and trying to kill the negotiators is the surest sign of that.
…its increasingly hard to know whats happening in Gaza at the moment, primarily because Israel have targeted and killed most of the journalists. Most of the information I see now comes from just ordinary people on the ground. And I hesitate to share it because we can no longer get the standard of vetting that you would get when it comes through a news organisation. But it’s bad.
And it isn’t just in Gaza. Israel killed 31 journalists in Yemen in a series of strikes.
It happened a couple of weeks ago. I noted it at the time, but it’s taken this long for it to be picked up by mainstream reporting. It’s the biggest mass slaughter of journalists in 16 years. Killing journalists is just the norm now.
So outside of reporting from the ground, the best sources of information still remains the Gaza Flash Updates. Here is the latest:
Again, I’m not going to summarise it. But everything is bad. Mass killings near food distribution sites has been normalised. Famine getting worse. Healthcare system overwhelmed. This quote haunts me.
"The escalating Israeli military offensive underway in Gaza city is “already resulting in disproportionate civilian casualties and driving the near total collapse of the remaining lifelines children need to survive,”
…earlier today, Israel attacked the flotilla of activists, food and aid that are trying to break the blockade on Gaza. In response: Italy are sending a frigate into the area for “possible rescue operations.” This is a relatively important development because the flotilla has already been attacked twice before while in port and nothing happened at all. But for the first time we will see if the presence of western military forces will mean Israel will back off, or if they will continue to harass the flotilla. And if they do, what will happen in response.
However, Netanyahu has the “full backing” of the US to “finish the job” if Hamas doesn’t accept the deal. So you know, no chance this could go wrong and just lead to endless ethnic cleansing then.
The deal is reported as a 20-point plan so we know Trump had to take his shoes and socks off for this one. Here’s the part that really sounds like an Onion article:
Trump’s plan would establish a temporary governing board that would be headed by Trump
You can’t even run your own country and you’re going to fix up Gaza?!
