The police around here will turn a blind eye (deaf ear?) on fireworks until ten o’clock. That’s when they start handing out noise ordinance citations like it’s going out of style. ---

I wasn’t reading this site while the fireworks were on, so not sure how to answer. I could certainly hear, and when I looked to some extent see, fireworks from a number of directions last night; most of them undoubtedly amateur. This is normal; both on the Fourth, and scattered through the closest weekend. We’re pretty wet here at the moment. I don’t know whether I’ve ever heard gunfire at New Year’s, but it’s not a tradition around here. Hunting and target shooting are both very common, though, so it doesn’t stand out to me if I hear gunfire. ---

It was surprisingly quiet until just before sunset. Normally my hood takes any excuse to set off fireworks, even in broad daylight. But once they got started, they did not disappoint. Pretty much nonstop in every direction until about 1100. ---

I haven’t seen Dial of Destiny or anything newer than half a season of Picard so I couldn’t fully participate in the polls. FTR I think DS9 is the best Star Trek. ---

My vote as well. The only one I haven’t seen at least some of is Enterprise. Also, where was Lower Decks? That option would have changed my votes somewhat. ---

It’s animated. Poll was for live action series only. Short Treks didn’t make the cut for the same reason. ---
