Oh, I’ve been jubilant before, where I strongly supported a particular candidate because she was especially well-suited for the office and/or was a personal friend, or because her opponent was particularly bad or even IMHO dangerous. All the more so if the win came as a surprise. ---

I was too, but things have changed since then. I have no TV so didn’t vote in the poll but would likely watch a documentary or movie. Reality TV isn’t. I’ve always been amazed at those holding conversations when they ran. I never could. Nice, pressed jeans can actually look good if you are also wearing a nice pressed shirt. I’ve never been able to say that about shorts. They always look casual to me. Even if it the shorts are part of a uniform. ---

I was about to vote that no one’s allowed to have an opinion about someone else’s tattoos in addition to “whatever,” but then I realized that I _always_ have an opinion. I would say it’s rude to _express_ that opinion uninvited. Likewise, piercings squick me out and I prefer not to think about them, but that’s my own odd bodily integrity issue and it’s not the pierced person’s problem. Many (perhaps most?) of my daughter’s friends have tattoos, and some of them are really gorgeous. I would no more criticize the ones that aren’t than I would tell a person that their nose is ugly. ---

I like tattoos, and have wanted a couple of different ones over the years, but going to get one seems perpetually just over my effort horizon. Maybe someday. ---

I have a bunch of ink and piercings. They are there because I like them. They are for me. I hear all kinds of negative comments from people who do not have body mods, but I’ve never heard anyone with tattoos/piercings criticizing people who do not have any. ---

You’re allowed to have an opinion about somebody else’s tattoos if the tattoed person asks you for your opinion; and arguably if they’re your intimate long-term partner and you have to look at them all the time. In either case their opinion overrides yours, but you can have one. [ETA: I don’t think it’s legal to get permanent tattoos for small children, so was leaving them out of it. If it is/were legal, then their guardians could also have an opinion, probably mostly along the lines of ‘wait till you’re older’.) I find some tattoos beautiful, some ugly, and some just there; which didn’t seem to be a possible vote. I have no interest either in getting one myself, or in telling somebody else that they should or shouldn’t get one (or more). ---

If an otherwise attractive woman wanted to have sex with me, I would not let a little ink or jewelry stand in the way. But, all else equal, I think most people look better un-mutilated. ---

I used to really dislike tattoos. To me they had the esthetic of someone covered in bruises. After a long time I’ve come to appreciate them as creative and usually attractive. Sometimes beautiful. Since I’ve retired and don’t really need to give a shit any longer, I’ve considered a tattoo for myself, but inspiration hasn’t struck on what to pick and where to put it. ---

It’s OK to have an opinion regarding what I do and do not find attractive in another person. As **InternetLegend** pointed out, it’s not OK to offer that opinion unsolicited, and of course I know that my opinion rightfully means nothing to anybody else. I have one tattoo on my left calf. My wife has three, on her wrist, foot, and shoulder. They are all small and tasteful and I like them. I tend not to like seeing someone completely covered in tattoos, and neck and face tattoos quite frankly make me seriously question a person’s judgement and intelligence. I’m pretty ‘meh’ on most piercings, but ear gauges squick me out. But “to each their own” is sill the correct answer.
