I have an irrational love for the movie **Dragnet** (1987). Another “heavy rotation on cable TV” movie that I watched literally hundreds of times because it was _always_ on. It’s objectively not a great movie, but it has a lot of moments. Another brilliant straight man performance from Dan Akroyd. 80s Tom Hanks doing 80s Tom Hanks things. I quote this movie a lot and almost nobody ever gets it: “My hat was in that car.” “I hate to admit it, but for once in your life you’re right. This _is_ good coffee.” “Well, Emil. It’s just you, me, …your balls, …and _this drawer_.” ---

My college roommate had the exact same clock/radio as **Maus** , I think. I had a very hard time picking just three from among _Splash, Dragnet, Big_ and _A League of Their Own_. Each is a very fun movie, and Hanks is excellent in each. I would’ve put _You’ve Got Mail_ into the mix, too, as it’s an enjoyable romcom, but omitted _Bonfire of the Vanities_, which is _not_ a “silly Tom Hanks” movie. > [@silenus](#): > > And the dance! Couldn’t vote in the last yesterday’s movie-related polls. I’ve seen one Cory Feldman Movie – _Goonies_ – and have no idea who he is. (Actor? Director? Key Grip?) And I’ve only seen one “silly comedian Tom Hanks” movie – _The Man with One Red Shoe_ “Excuse me. 'Scuse me. Pardon me, pardon me, 'scuse me…” continuing until I get past the people in the way. (That’s how we did it on the boat.) 😃 ---
