I support local businesses when I can. If there’s something semi-esoteric in the hardware line we need, we go to one of the last independent hardware stores we know about. They have _every_thing, and their staff is knowledgeable. ---

A major component of the “benefit” of job benefits is they’re mostly taken care of for you. I’ll take the normal salary and the lavish benefits. ---

Had ice cream today, and considering making peppermint ice cream in December. Until then, the bottom drawer of the freezer is full of ice cream treats. Gotta work on that. ---

Local ice cream stands are seasonal where I live in New England. They’re only open between June and October. ---

There are some B&R type ice cream shops, but they’re open year round. I’m going to create a poll on where people get their ice cream. We’re not big ice cream eaters, but I’d guess 90% of the ice cream we do consume is purchased at a grocery store and eaten at home. ---

Does gelato count? Because I’ve had a few scoops of superior gelato in Vegas this summer. Otherwise I generally don’t eat ice cream. ---

I’m not picky about my ice cream, so most of what I eat is from the grocery store. Every now and then I’ll buy a single serving from a shop or stand, but that’s rare. There’s a Baskin Robbins on a corner I pass frequently on the way home, but transporting single-serve ice cream can be tricky, so I only stop there if I have someone else in the car and we’re both having a low impulse control day. My total intake of ice cream isn’t really extreme; I’ll generally have a scoop or two twice or three times in a week. The only real difference in summer is that I’m more likely to eat it with some fresh fruit.
