I’m sure your are all dying to know how i made my turkey soup, and how it came out. It turned out to be more like 2 gallons than 1.5 gallons. I looked at ¼ cup of beans and said, “naw”, and ended up using ¾ cup dried beans and ½ cup dry barley. I cooked those for a few hours, then added a cereal bowl full of turkey scraps (mostly off the legs no one likes drumsticks in my family) and about the same volume of chopped carrots. I was going to add celery, but the broth tasted like I’d used to much celery, so i didn’t. I did add a little bit of lemon juice, which improved it a lot. I think i overcooked the beans, but everything else can’t out well. I served it with Iggi’s baguettes and some water cress with a vinaigrette. And after supper, i froze 4 quarts of soup and a quart of broth. ---

I’m glad @puzzlegal went with the sour element! I feel vindicated. And yeah, I almost always add lemon juice (more rarely cider vinegar instead) to homemade turkey stocks to brighten the flavors as I said earlier - means (among other things) I add less salt as well. ---

I tested it in a small sample of the broth, and I thought the lemon juice improved it a lot. Thanks. ---

For the royalty poll, if those are _truly_ the only two options, I’ll choose “Leave me alone.” But I’d really try to broker a deal like “I’ll relinquish my claim for $100 million. _Then_ leave me alone.” ---

I also selected the non-disclosure option (and absolutely would have requested hush money, probably somewhere between the amounts @Wheelz and @thorny_locust mentioned). If I’m close enough to be in the line, someone very recent in my family history is going to be very embarrassed. And I love (even if I argue with them) my folks. And they’d all end up living under a microscope as a result - along with my wife. So, yeah, no royal life for me, even if I’d love the money and probably enjoy a degree of silly sucking up. Still not worth it (especially if I can get say $10-20 million of hush money). ---
