I just use my cat’s adoption day as his birthday. I was told he was 4 when I adopted him, but I don’t know his exact birth date. So he’s probably actually at least a few months older than what his vet records say. ---

All of my cats have been rescues, so birth dates are by guess and by God. It’s not like they get a party. Presents, OTOH…… ---

I like waffles, and I have a waffle maker. I figure we do them 8-10 times a year though, normally as a breakfast-for-dinner thing. Sometimes we make our own from scratch batter, sometimes use kodiak mix as a base. Often we’ll do ‘alternate’ pancakes - so for Thanksgiving, we brought waffles made with sweet potatoes (served with whipped butter from kerrygold and honey), and I’ve made pancakes using roasted and mashed pumpkin after Halloween. Heck, my wife will occasionally make dessert waffles out of devil’s food cake mix! What’s nice is that as a meat eater, I can make a couple of scrambled eggs on the side, while my wife just has the pancakes (no meat for her, and she dislikes eggs). So it’s part of our options for days we want to cook together rather than largely separate dishes. ---

I love waffles, but I hate cleaning the waffle maker, so I don’t make them often. I loved the old waffle maker we had when I was a kid. Our late Max was our only rescue for whom we knew the birthdate. He was rescued after an older couple died, and their son surrendered him to the rescue. They’d bought him as a puppy and knew the birthday. We didn’t celebrate…although he might get an extra treat or two on that day. Our previous two had been dumped at a kill shelter, so we had no idea of their background at all. We picked them up from the rescue on the Saturday before Mother’s Day, so we made Mother’s Day their unofficial birthday. Since it varied year to year we couldn’t use it as an official birthdate. ---

Meave the cat just turned up at our house one day and stayed. We have no idea when her birthday is, and she refuses to answer when we ask her. Her loss. ---

For me celery is nothing more than a cream cheese delivery device. I did not see that as an option, so I went “other”. mmm ---

We foster kittens. When we adopt one that we foster, we often know the birth date. Sometimes they were even born in our home. But right now we have an old lady whose age was described as “at least 10” when we took her in, and two kittens who were born in April, but i don’t think they ever told us when in April. ---

Ahhh. Mine is lovely, although it only makes one waffle at a time. So I make two for my gf. Then I use the rest of the batter. I eat the last two made, then package and freeze the 4-5 others. Clean ups a breeze! As far as our dogs, we know each of their gotcha days and sorta figure out a birthday. They get gifts and treats on their birthdays. ---
