I voted for poker. I was never actually all that great at poker, but it’s the one thing on the list that I could participate in without being immediately and humiliatingly crushed. ---

I won a poker tournament at a gaming con, vs 70 or so other gamers. After that my friends were sure I was some sort of poker genius. When playing against other amateurs, i do very well. It is unfortunate that our polling feature limits us to 50 items. This precludes a none-of-the-above option when listing the 50 states. I’ve run into this issue myself (made worse when I’ve wanted to include D.C.). I don’t think any of the states make a good dog name. If the polls allowed I would do one for countries. _“Who’s a good boy? United Arab Emirates is a good boy, aren’t you, yes you are!”_ mmm ---

I think a couple of states would work. I think dog names should have two syllables and some sharp consonants. So, “Texas” could be okay. People might look at you funny when you play with your dog, though. ---

Well, that would open up a D.C. option. We’d have to take it one step further (Carolina) to allow a non-of-the-above choice. mmm ---

I also wouldn’t see a problem lumping Rhode Island, DC, Delaware, together under the “little places” title. ---

1. The poll asked for “Best at”, not “Played.” The only time I’ve picked up a golf club in the last 40 years was to swat at a noisy smoke alarm. 2. No state name is a good dog name. 3. The only reason I voted in the “Offal” poll is because I live in a highly Mexican area and I have family all over the South. So I’ve had offal before. I will not knowingly eat it ever again. In pretty much any form. Maybe chorizo, but that’s pushing it. ---

Any state name would make an acceptable dog name; but many of them would need to be abbreviated for calling purposes. I used to know a cat named Utah. I don’t remember how he got the name. I’ve actually eaten most, but not all, of the organ meats I checked. The only one I disliked was tripe; and that may have been due to how it was cooked. ---

I used to golf semi-regularly, but I was consistently pretty bad at it. I haven’t golfed in at least a decade, and I honestly don’t miss it. In that poll, I selected “running” – I don’t run anymore, but when I did, and running a lot of 5Ks and 10Ks, I was usually able to finish in the top quarter of my age group, and actually medaled a couple of times. And, as noted above, I selected “other” for fencing. I took a fencing class in college, and by the end of the semester, I was one of the best in my class. ---

Truth be told, the tripe had little flavor, but the sauce was fabulous. I wasn’t sure how to answer for offal I’ve tried and don’t want to try again. That includes brain and sweetbreads. Brain was okay, but I’d avoid it now for fear of mad-cow-disease (and the like). Sweetbreads had the most disgusting texture of anything I’ve ever eaten. Like like bits of brain swimming in a sea of snot. I didn’t vote for those. I did vote for a couple I’ve never had, like pig snout, that i might dislike just as much. But I’d give them a try, first. I’ve also eaten most of the offal, and enjoyed most of it. ---

I’ve enjoyed most offal. I was able to answer “lungs” because of haggis, which I like. The only one I dislike is kidneys, which is too bad as I really enjoy steak pies, but steak-and-kidney is just gross. I’m not quite brave enough for brains or tongue, though. ---
